There are many Chinese restaurant workers in New York. The incomes of those immigrants are usually minimum-wage. Many Chinese restaurant workers want to look for a new job in Chinatown employment agencies in New York. Usually those jobs are low levels. A Chinese immigrant from North Carolina with nothing wants to find a new job. Most Chinese restaurants are located in exurban strip malls, decaying streets or near the subway. The success of Chinese restaurants is that people eat a great meal with cheaper prices, but workers are paid below minimum wages usually. A lot of immigrants are undocumented and they must pay tens of thousands of dollars to some powerful people. Though illegal immigrants exist, it is only occasionally they are arrested. Authorities focus on restaurants and employment agencies on illegal immigrants in recent years. All of these workers care about three things- salary, working location and distance where they go to work. They use the area code to identify the location because most of them do not know English. They usually take buses.

After I read this article, I found something interesting. First, I did not know that many Chinese are not satisfied with their life. I really have no idea why they want to change their job because they are always looking for the same level jobs. They do not have good English and can not completely afford the expenditures of life. The author cites someone’s word that says they think some cities are too rural. Although the author says they consider three points, I still do not recognize their behavior. In addition, it is a surprise for me that those Chinese immigrants depend on the area codes to recognize the roads. Besides I am wondering that if there are many illegal Chinese immigrants working in Chinese restaurants. Why did the authorities not take action to handle the situation immediately? They say the authorities have noticed the problem. Finally, not only to the Chinese but also all to foreigners in American, I want to say that illegal immigrants in American are a very serious problem because the authorities can not control their action completely. And because of the reason the authorities set many limits to those legal foreigners living in America. It is not fair to restrict those people or put restrictions to living in America. I think the American government should consider that.
